Take Care of the Earth Day
This Friday, September 20th, all Falmouth schools will be participating in "Take Care of the Earth Day.' To commemorate this day, staff and students are being asked to wear green. http://oceanservice.noaa.gov/ocean/eaerthday.html is a link that shows 10 simple ways to help protect, preserve and take care of the Earth. Remember wear green this Friday, September 20th.
Volunteers Needed (Assemble Go Buckets)
We are looking for student volunteers to help us assemble Go Buckets on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 18 and 19th after school from 2:15 to 3:45 pm. We will meet in the DRY STEM LAB and work together on this important project. Go Buckets are buckets filled with hygiene and safety items which will be placed in each classroom throughout the Falmouth school district. If you can help, please email Miss Paula at email@example.com or stop by the Main Office to sign up.
ACT's at FHS
Seniors-- If you are interested in aking the ACT test at Falmouth High School on October 26th, you will need to register by Friday, September 20th. Colleges accetp ACT scores for admission, just like SAT's. If you would like to try a different test option, then go to ACT.org to register.
College Planning for Seniors
Attention Seniors: The Guidance department will sponsor a college planning night for Seniors and their parents on Thursday evening, September 19th from 7:00 to 8:15 pm in the Auditorium. Information will be provided on the step by step procedures required for the college application process. We hope students and parents will plan to attend this important college planning event.
Science Honor Society
The Science Honor Society will meet Thursday, September 19th in room 2023, after school. Donuts will be provided!!!
Are you interested in Robotics?
Come join the Robitics Team!! FHS will have two teams to compete in VEX Robotics competitions on Cape Cod this year. One team is funded for just girls, and the second team is a co-ed team. The teams will compete against other Cape teams, including Mashpee, Sandwich and UCT. The first meeting is Wednesday, September 18th, after school in Ms. Milliken's room, 1073. This program is new to our school and we need students who are creative, can work as a team, are curious, like a challenge and want to build things. Come join us.
Childcare for Meet the Teacher Night (Wednesday, September 18)
Childcare for Meet the Teacher Night (Wednesday, September 18) Volunteers are needed at the following elementary schools to provide childcare for meet the teacher night. East Falmouth Elementary from 5:15 to 8;00 p.m.; Teaticket Elementary from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. and North Falmouth Elementary from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. If you can help, please stop the VIPS office or email at firstname.lastname@example.org
GSA (Gay, Straight Alliance)
The GSA has returned!!! Please join us every other Wednesday, beginning on this Wednesday, September 18th, after school in room 2086. The group will be forming a club, developing a plan for our first activity, which will be All week, taking place next week, September 23rd thru 27th. Snacks will be provided before we head down to the cafeteria to help fill buckets for the district safety initiative. ALL ARE WELCOME!!!
French Honor Society
The French Honor Society will meet briefly after school on Wednesday, September 18th. The club will be electing officers and discussing opportunities for Community Service.
Art Honor Society
Art Honor Society will be having a meeting on September 25, immediately after school in the Library. Please plan to attend if you are in Art Honor Society.
Bourne Farm Pumpkin Day
Volunteers are needed for Pumplin Day at Bourne Farm. The event is held on Saturday, October 12th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The following shifts are available: 9:00 am to 12:00 noon; 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm; and cleanup from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Volunteer opportunities include pumpkin sales, ticket sales, the Salt Pond table, parking, pony rides, hay rides, henna tatoo's, bounce house and obstacle course. Please stop by the VIP's office to sign up.
There will be college representatives visiting the Guidance department after school at 2:05 pm as follows: Monday, 9/16: Mass College of Pharmacy & Health; Monday, Wednesday, 9/18: Tufts University; 10/7: Stonehill College; Monday, 10/21: Boston College; Tuesday, 11/5: Babson College, and Wednesday, 12/11; University of Hartford. Please stop by Guidance if enterested.
